Rugby 'B' vs Monument High School

A high Monument kick was not claimed by the Warwick front catchers creating a back foot platform in the opening seconds of the match. Warwick however cleared up scrappy ball and started to make slow forward progression. A long hard clearance kick from Robinson saw a lucky bounce miss the full back and players swooped in from the Warwick team to pin them back in their own twenty-two. However a Monument clearance kick was knocked on by a Warwick player in the deep and gave Monument a scrum in a strong position to create an attacking platform. This was defended well and turnover ball was soon created with a Warwick overlap utilized, fast recycling of the ball and offloads saw Connor Atkin take a blindside option and score in the corner. Giving the Warwick team a 5 – 3 lead as Monument kicked a late penalty before half time. The second half was started strong by disruption from the kickoff allowing for attacking Warwick ball, however the ball was lost and weak defense allowed Monument to score after a succession of strong phases. Warwick however came back strong and pushed hard knowing it was their last game, smashing back the Monument attack and Ollie Lunel broke the line several times creating problems for the defense. Jack Thompson buried under the defense to score after many phases which was converted by Robinson to end the Match 12 – 8 to Warwick, a very strong way to end thetour for the seconds.
